I just wanted to share with everyone a small story about a near death experience that happened to my friend Steve Martile (my friend who helps me teach in the 7 free videos on How to Create a YouTube Video to Market Your Business Online) and I on August 15, 2009, while white water rafting on the Ottawa River. Watch this short online video of the incident first and then continue reading below as I describe in detail what thoughts were going through my head.
All I remember is being on the raft, heart was racing as we approached the rapids, hitting the rapids, and then a few seconds later being in the water. Here are some more videos and pictures from the same white water rafting trip that I created using a free online video service called Animoto. Goosh! Was the craziest near death experience of my life! So exciting and yet scary, a nice blend of the two. Glad we are all alive and ready to conquer my next near death experience.
Great story. Not to be picky, but a near death experience (NDE) typically is a sensation (real or imagined) of rising above your body for a short period of time. http://www.nderf.org
I’m not saying they are true or not, but thought you’d like the fyi.
Thanks. Glad you made it :0)
Thanks John. I didn’t realize there was a specific definition for a near death experience. Thanks for sharing the site…very interesting. For a few seconds, I honestly thought I wasn’t going to make it. Definitely have a new outlook on life now
for anyone who thinks that a rapid is just a fun thing to do let me tell u that u should never defy mother nature…..yesterday I crossed over a class IV rapid in james river VA, did fine with our guide and family when our enlightened guide decided to challenge the rapid and ride over it counter current with the front of the boat so as to have it carry us down again and do a 180 turn when the water filled the boat (mostly front where I was) sucked me out of it and carried me in the hole/hydraulic under where I almost suffocated and barely made it out of the water ( was cyanotic then) ie blue colored due to lack of oxygen…NEVER AGAIN
I absolutely agree….it’s a crazy experience, but honestly (after a year) I would do it again
