As you have learned from my 7 FREE videos on online video marketing with YouTube it is important to add online video to your marketing strategy. Online video can come in many shapes and forms, it doesn’t always have to be You in front of the camera. One effective way to promote your products or services is to make a photo slideshow and place it on your website. Animoto is a powerful photo slideshow software that allows you to do this with ease. The two videos below (click on the arrow pointing to the right inside the video box to jump to the next video) will first walk you through the steps of how to create your first photo slideshow and then will show you the final product.
Benefits to using Animoto
There are so many free photo slideshow software out there, but the following features are what makes Animoto so special for me:
- Now available in High Definition!
- Allows you to mix video clips, photos, and text together (now that is cool!)
- Make slideshows directly from Facebook and iPhone/iTouch (even cooler!)
- Directly send your Animoto videos to YouTube (go viral!)
- Easily embed your Animoto videos on your own website (copy and paste a few lines of HTML code)
- Includes a huge library of licensed music (or upload your own)
- Order a DVD slideshow to hand deliver to clients at conferences and shows
Animoto Business is an upgrade available to business owners who want to take their Animoto photo slideshows to the next marketing level. In addition to Animoto’s regular features, your account will include a very powerful online marketing tool called the Call-to-action button. This button will appear at the end of your video requesting an action from your viewer. This would be an ideal place to add a direct link to your orders page, inquire about your rates, or even a product landing page. Hani,
Thanks a million for the info. I just created my first video and posted it on Facebook. I’ve never done anything with videos online before, but it was simple. It took me about 20 minutes and most of that time was spent trying to find music to go with the video. Next time won’t take nearly as long.
Hey Mike,
Great to hear…I’m so honored to have had a small role in you creating your first video
I couldn’t find a link to your video on Facebook, do you mind sharing it here in the comments. I’m sure others would love to see it as well.
Hani
I would. But the video I made was of my daughter, now 27, growing up through the years. She didn’t like her pictures/video on facebook and made me delete it. She said she would be embarrassed if any of her friends saw it.
It’s still on my Animoto account. Is there any way that you can see it there?
I just forwarded it to my Twitter account, so it’s now online again. Shauna doesn’t have a twitter account, so she’ll never know.
Mike
Hani,
Here’s the twitter link: http://animoto.com/s/nU5CUD6cSMIENzJfwYA0sA
An hour ago it had five views at Animoto; now it’s had 35.
Mike
Sweeeet! Great job Mike…look’s awesome! Hope we don’t embarrass your daughter too much. See how fast online video gets exposure
Also, following your instruction, I bought two clamp-on lights, two 100W bulbs and two white shower caps. I made mounts out of two pieces of 1X4 and two pieces of 2X4, nailed them together and clamped the lights on them. I set one on each side of my new iMac, plugged them in–and they are bright.
I’ve been practicing a short script I wrote to introduce my blog, http://www.insomniasimplysucks.com, on Youtube. I decided on a script (crutch?) for my first video of myself because I’m afraid I’ll look like an idiot without one. I know that’s contrary to what you say about not worrying about making mistakes, but I like to look as professional as possible, even though I’m not.
I’ve been practicing using my digital voice recorder and have started practicing using the camera in my iMac. I should have my video made by the weekend. I’ll let you know when it’s posted.
I didn’t know how to do any of this until I discovered your videos a couple of weeks ago. I guess I’m a slow learner because I’m from an older generation. I like to blame my ignorance of computers on my age.
Thanks again, Hani.
Mike
Mike..you rock man! I’m so proud of ya
I’m so glad to see you taking action and creating videos for your website. I really can’t wait to see them. Please do keep us posted on when they are up.
If you need anything and anytime, don’t be shy to ask.
Can’t wait to see your online videos.
