How to Convert PowerPoint to Video

0 Flares Twitter 0 Facebook 0 0 Flares ×

In this short video, I demonstrate a point that marketing with video doesn’t have to be complicated, time consuming, nor even perfect. I also share with a powerful tool that converts your existing PPT files (PowerPoint) to video, which can then be uploaded to YouTube and other video sharing sites. Your new online PowerPoint Presentation is one of the easiest and quickest ways to get started with online video marketing and to build your YouTube library and drive traffic back to your site or blog. So if you’ve been looking for an easy way to get your first online video up on YouTube, this is the perfect video for you.

If you are new to online video, you might be interested in my PowerPoint Video Training. With this training I’m going to show you an EASY way to create a professional-looking video using PowerPoint. I’ll teach you the EXACT steps I take to create my professional presentations with voice overs and how to convert them into online videos.

After releasing this video, it was brought to my attention that the acoolsoft.com has changed their product line around and the “PPT to Video Free” product now only allows you to convert 5 slides from your existing PowerPoint presentations. The Pro version has more advanced features, particularly allowing you to export your videos in HD quality. A trial of the “PPT To Video Pro” can be found below. Alternatively, you can download their older free version of the software called “PPT to YouTube” which works well (this is the software I’ve used in the past).

Great question. If you are running PowerPoint of Keynote on Mac OS then you can export your presentation into a video file directly without the need of any additional software.

I definitely struggled to find a free solution myself…so when I did, I had to share it. I also learned recently that PowerPoint 2010 and later lets you save your presentation with voiceover directly into a video file (.wmv) which can be uploaded to YouTube as well.

GREAT info – after long search, finally a free solution to this problem. Tried the free version, it works great – considering an upgrade for more video output formats… Thanks!

Hi Pallavi,

Make sure you download the “PPT to YouTube Free” from the link above (Note: they don’t have a link to the download on the acoolsoft website since this product is discontinued…but the product works so well so I still recommend it for converting PowerPoint to online video. It’s a perfect tool to help you get started with marketing with video.

Hani

Hani,

From acoolsoft.com:
“Note:
Acoolsoft PPT2YouTube is not available. Now Acoolsoft released PPT to Video Free for you to convert PowerPoint to more video formats for free.”

Looking at the specs, this new free version doesn’t allow output to mp4 for use on YouTube.

Thanks Brian. PPT2YouTube is an old software that they no longer provide, but the link above to download this software is still active and I do recommend everyone to download it before they remove it from their site 🙂

The new version (PPT to Video Free) can convert to MOV format which YouTube can accept, but it worth nothing that this free version will only convert the first 5 slides of your presentation. You will need to purchase PPT to Video Pro to convert the entire presentation unfortunately.

Cheers,
Hani

Hi Hani, nice to ‘see’ you again. Thanks for the update about acoolsoft restriction to 5 powerpoint slides – I will need to update my blog post which lists and discusses these free video tools.
Great stuff, and all the best,
Kathy

Thanks Kathy…always a pleasure to see you again 🙂

I still have a link to acoolsoft’s previous free tool called PPT to YouTube which works on unlimited slides. This product is discontinued, but the link above still works (for now).

Have a fantastic weekend.

Hani

This is awesome! I had no idea you could do this (although now I realize I’ve seen others do this) or how. Thanks Hani! Your audio was surprisingly clear too while you were driving lol. I just hope you don’t do that a lot or live in New York! 🙂 Have a great day!

@Charity Thanks for the comment. In order to be productive, you should always try to keep things simple and try to reuse existing content in as many creative ways as you can.

Hi, great music track but the actual speech track didn’t come through – unfortunately I don’t lipread 🙂

Hi Errol…thanks for the feedback. The first 10 seconds of the video are the intro and there is no speech at all. After the intro, you should hear me talking. I checked it out and the speech is there, but please do try it out and let me know if you are still running into issues. You can try viewing the video directly on YouTube to see if you notice a difference.
