Mistake #1: Failure to Promote Your Website in Your Videos. Since the purpose of your video is to promote your business or service, it is absolutely critical to tell your prospects where to go to learn more about you and your business. For each online video you create, I personally suggest putting your business website’s URL in the following places:
a. Title of the video: Since the title is the first thing people see, make your URL is incorporated into your video title. For example if I created a video version of this article, I would set the title as “EasyOnlineVideoTips.com | 7 Most Common Mistakes People Make with Online Marketing Videos”.
b. Description of the video: When publishing your videos to video sharing sites, you are always asked to enter a brief description of the video. I highly suggest you put the full URL of your website first followed by the actual description. Make sure to include the “http://” (i.e http://www.easyonlinevideotips.com) since some sites will make your link clickable (this is true on YouTube)
c. Inside the video: Using any basic video editing software or the target=”_blank”>YouTube Annotation feature, add a text box that contains your URL and leave that box visible throughout the video.
If you have created some online videos in the past, now is a great time to spend a few minutes and quickly update them.
